Ellee K. McKim

Ellee McKim is a staff attorney in the Boston office of Berman Tabacco. She focuses her practice on representing investors and consumers in cases involving unfair competition, consumer protection, securities and complex litigation.

Since joining Berman Tabacco, Ellee has been an integral member of litigation teams for several significant cases, involving matters such as currency benchmark manipulation, misappropriation of investor funds, credit card rate manipulation, unfair competition in the heathcare industry, and pharmaceutical market monopolization.

Prior to joining the firm in 2015, Ellee served as an associate attorney at a commercial litigation firm in Boston. While in law school, she interned for Judge Joyce London Alexander of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Experience

  • Part of the litigation team in Laydon v. Mizuho Bank Ltd., et al., No. 12-cv-03419 (S.D.N.Y); Sonterra Capital Master Fund Ltd., et al. v. UBS AG, et al., No. 1:15-cv-05844; and Sullivan v. Barclays PLC, et al., No. 1:13-cv-02811 (S.D.N.Y.)—three important cases that sought to hold financial institutions responsible for their manipulation of Yen-LIBOR and EURIBOR benchmark rates.
  • Member of the trial preparation team in In re Asacol Antitrust Litigation, No. 1:15-cv-12730 (D. Mass.), a case seeking to hold a pharmaceutical giant accountable for its alleged attempts to unlawfully extend its patent and thus overcharge consumers.
  • Member of tribal lending litigation team prosecuting federal RICO class action claims against Defendants allegedly running unlawful “rent-a-tribe” online payday lending scheme.
  • Member of the firm’s litigation team representing a class of EpiPen purchasers alleging that their Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) unlawfully retained manufacturer rebates and other monies at the expense of the purchasers.
  • Member of the firm’s litigation team representing a nationwide class of credit card holders, seeking to hold a prominent credit card company accountable for unlawfully inflating merchant fees leading to overcharging consumers.
