Berman DeValerio is pleased to announce that Kristin J. Moody and Matthew D. Pearson have been named partners of the firm. The promotions recognize the important contributions both attorneys have made to the firm’s success in prosecuting complex securities and antitrust cases.

Kristin J. Moody, resident in the Boston office, focuses her practice on securities litigation. She has successfully litigated numerous cases that have resulted in substantial settlements for defrauded investors, including In re International Rectifier Corp. Securities Litigation, which settled for $90 million. Prior to joining Berman DeValerio, Ms. Moody practiced at two prominent international law firms where she represented clients in white-collar criminal matters and complex civil litigation, including securities litigation.
Ms. Moody received an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, a J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School and a B.A, cum laude, from Bucknell University. Ms. Moody is also active in the community and is a member of Generation Citizen’s National Advisory Board and the Chair of its Boston Advisory Council. Ms. Moody has also taught Business Law at Fisher College and is a member of the Fisher College Advisory Board.
Mr. Pearson joined Berman DeValerio in 2005 and practices out of the firm’s San Francisco office. Mr. Pearson focuses on both antitrust and securities litigation. He has litigated a number of complex antitrust class actions, including In re New Motor Vehicles Canadian Export Antitrust Litigation and Sullivan v. DB Investments Inc., the latter of which resulted in a $295 million settlement for aggrieved diamond purchasers. Mr. Pearson was also a key member of the litigation team in the In re Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. Securities Litigation, where the firm, as co-lead counsel, secured settlements totaling $294.9 million.
Mr. Pearson is a 2004 graduate of the UC Davis School of Law, where he completed the King Hall public service law program. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from UCLA in 1999.
