Berman Tabacco is delighted to announce the Bar Association of San Francisco named Senior Paralegal Kathy Becker Paralegal of the Year. Ms. Becker has had a long and diverse career as a litigation paralegal. Coming from a legal family, Ms. Becker was drawn to the legal profession at an early age. Over the past 31 years, her experience has run the gamut from working for a large Wall Street defense firm to a solo practitioner litigating plaintiff-side consumer class actions. And the clients have been just as varied–from a global energy corporation, to a group of female student athletes in a Title IX Action, to a death row inmate. Over the course of her career, Ms. Becker has enjoyed the camaraderie of working in teams with clients, secretaries, support staff, and, yes, even attorneys. Having a clear sense of what matters has been a driving force in her professional success: “I think the type of work one does and the organization you do it for are very important, and these values have always been very important to me.”
Ms. Becker brought her expertise to Berman Tabacco five years ago. In conferring the Paralegal of the Year award on Ms. Becker on December 5, San Francisco name partner Joe Tabacco remarked that Ms. Becker exemplifies everything that is great about the profession, consistently going above and beyond what is asked of her, and that the firm is grateful to have staff, like Ms. Becker, whose diligence, breadth of knowledge, and hard work are indispensable to the firm’s success. A hearty congratulations to Ms. Becker on her well-deserved honor.
